Obama takes back 'faith'

Obama has been pressing this issue since last year but his campaign is raising the visibility of "Democrats and Faith" again.
Obama Web Site Seeks to Rally The Faithful

Obama's faith outreach site faith.barackobama.com  shows that he is serious about breaking the "Moral Majority" away from the republicans. I think this is critical to turning the US blue and am glad to see it.

The Washington Post article mentions that Edwards would have a  faith outreach page up the next day but all I can find is this Me Too gif.

Looking at it politically (which i admit is a little cynical), this could be a way that Obama extends his appeal from the elites/younger people to the lower and middle income, middle aged and older Democrat.

Have your eyes checked.

So you are claiming (none / 0)

that Barack Obama is holier than the rest?

I do not want the "moral majority" in my party.

Somehow, I suspect all the candidates are people of faith.  Big deal.

Re: So you are claiming (3.00 / 1)

You obviously don't understand it.  It's more a matter of breaking religion from being a "republican" thing.  Because it really isn't.  If anything, the idea is good to capitalize on the recent death of Jerry Falwell and put an end to whatever is left of the "Moral Majority".

Democrats who embrace religion and values, do well.  Most Democrats ignore it, or push it to the side when it comes to campaigning / politics.

Tricky (none / 0)

If Obama wants to go down that road the Democratic challengers will let him.  There will be no attacks coming from Democratic nominees.  But if he were to win the nomination GOPers will not be so kind.  They will look at his faith and the round about way he came to it and really hit him on it.

Me, personally, I can see why.  I look at his finding religion the same way I look at his quick desire to quit smoking earlier in the year.  I look at it from a politcal angle.
