Obama takes Walter Reed personally

From his IAFF speech, Obama is taking our veteran's treatment at Walter Reed very personally ..

When our veterans come home, I don't want them forgotten in run down buildings.
When our veterans come home, I don't want them crawling around a dumpster for a meal or a box for shelter.
When our veterans come home, I don't want them drowning in whiskey to silence the PTSD.
When our veterans come home, I don't want them begging to see a doctor.
When our veterans come home, I don't want their wives or mothers or husbands to have to choose between caring for their loved-one or keeping the job that pays the bills.
When our veterans come home, I don't want them sitting in a room all alone with tears in their eyes because they can only get voicemail at the VA.

I don't want that for our veterans. We know they deserve more.

I like the righteous (or is it lefteous) anger.

He has a way with words! (none / 0)

This man is incredible.  I saw most of his speech, he was very serious, very Presidential and as usual I (and the audience) seemed to hang on his every word.

I sorry, but this man is the Ronald Reagan of the Democratic Party.

I liked the part where he said that all the right does is slap a ribbon on their suvs.

Re: Obama takes Walter Reed personally (3.00 / 1)

I haven't heard his speech but, on MSNBC they said it wasn't big.  But, a downer.  But, it sounds like it was about something that he cares passionately about.  The ending of this war and the crap treatment of the vets and the troops.  It sounds like he is really angry about this and wants things done.
It seems to me his speeches have more substance and food for thought than the usual red meat crap that the news people want them to give.
But, I feel Obama is a very caring person who really believes in what he is saying.  Authentic.
That is why I support him.

This is the media backlash beginning.  Obama will get hit by them for a little while.  If he survives, I think he is golden.
